Edgars Pukinsks was confirmed as the Secretary General of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) at the meeting of the Board of the Latvian Football Federation on Tuesday by a majority of votes, published on the LFF website. Eight members of the board voted for Pukinsky’s candidacy, one against. Pukinsky was also in this position from June 2018 to June 2019, as well as from November 2019 until now.“I and my team had three candidates. We discussed all three on the board and decided in favor of Pukinsky,” Lashenko commented. “It was important for us to have an experienced person as Secretary-General who could work at full capacity right away, who didn’t need adaptation time to” swing “and understand what and how to do it. Plus, of course, it was important that Pukinsk had an LFF board support of members as well as staff “.“The last eight months have shown that even in very challenging moments, LFF is able to work effectively as a single mechanism in the form of its board and employees, which has resulted in several success stories. This has led us to talk about the stability of Latvian football today,” Pukinsky is quoted by the LFF as Secretary-General for“Seeing who, with what goals and commitment, has been elected to the board, is convinced that we are one step away from being able to talk mainly about the development of football. I am glad that the new LFF board has appreciated what has been done in the past and expressed to continue co – operation for the next four years, “added the Secretary General of the LFF, who emphasized the implementation of the Latvian football development strategy until 2024 as one of the most important tasks for the future. The LFF Board also unanimously decided to approve three temporary committees: the Infrastructure Committee, the Football Veterans Committee, and the Strategic Council. The next board meeting is scheduled for July 23.
