Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite is in the works. And unlike previous reports which suggested that the phone with model number SM-8750 could be called Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini, new reports suggest that the device is indeed called Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite. The phone has been certified by the Chinese certification site, TENAA, which has revealed certain details about Samsung’s upcoming smartphone.According to the TENAA listing, Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite will feature a 5.8-inch HD+ Infinity Display with a resolution of 1022×2220 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. The device is likely to run on Android 8 Oreo out-of-the-box and sport 4GB RAM with a storage space of 64GB which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD. In terms of connectivity, the device is expected to feature 4G LTE, Bluetooth, USB, GPS, NFC and GLONASS. It is also likely to sport iris recognition technology along with fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and gravity sensor among other things.As far as the camera is concerned, Galaxy S8 Lite is likely to come with a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera with a wide angle lens. It is expected to be backed by a 3,000mAh battery with support for quick charging technology. In terms of dimensions, the phone will measure 148.9×68.1×8.0mm and weigh 155 grams.Previous reports also suggested that the smartphone could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor which will run on a clock frequency of 2.2GHz and Adreno 512 GPU.Meanwhile, just months after the launch of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S9 series, rumours about the Korean electronics giant working on its predecessor have already started doing rounds on the social media. As per the reports, Samsung’s next series S flagship device has been codenamed “Beyond” and that the company was working with other companies like Synaptics, Qualcomm, and Taiwan’s Ezestek for developing fingerprint-on-display (FOD) sensors for the device.
