[email protected] (626) 578-6300, Ext. 4496 PASADENA – A jury Thursday found Arcadia stockbroker Richard Robert Russo guilty of first-degree murder for the killing of his wife Carmen in late August 2005. Russo, 51, was also convicted of two child-endangerment charges after jurors deliberated over the course of two days. Police say Russo shot and killed his 42-year-old wife, then barricaded himself and the couple’s two sleeping children, 6 and 11, in their home in the early morning hours of Aug. 30, 2005. The couple lived in Arcadia’s exclusive Santa Anita Oaks neighborhood. Russo, then a senior vice president at Smith Barney in Pasadena, kept police at bay for more than seven hours, authorities said. He has been held without bail since the incident, and now faces 50 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
